It’s very rare when you get a chance at the cottage to skate on the lake when there is no snow, or very minimum snow. Over the holidays I was fortunate enough to take my 2 year old son for a skate on some crystal clear ice where you could look down to the rocky bottom. There are no boards, no snow banks, nothing to confine you to a small skating area, just an open pallet for skating where ever you want. I was probably 10 years old the last time I had this opportunity. It’s a amazing feeling of freedom and I felt like a kid again.
