It all started on a beautiful Sunday morning at the cottage, I woke up early to my son asking if we could watch airplanes like every other morning. That’s the Disney movie, today was different though, in a couple of hours I was going snowmobiling through the Kawarthas. Around 10.30 my father-in-law, his buddy Mike and I were heading out to ride some trails and lakes before the snowmobiling season comes to an end. Warmer weather is in sight.

The ride started out on Havelock and District Sno Club’s E107 to make our way to Stoney Lake and past the amazing glass house. Once we got to Viamede, we Stoney Lake Sno Rider’s 704 to a quaint little restaurant/bistro (Uncle George’s) for a hot beverage and a very tasty lunch. Oh and some delicious homemade pie.

About an hour later we headed back to Stony Lake for our 2 hour ride home on Rice Lake Sno Drifters 569 and a stop for french fries at Woody’s in Havelock.

As much as I love riding through the woods on these beautiful trails when it feels like you’re in a tree tunnel, I think the highlight of my trip is always the ride through the staked trails on Upper Stoney and Lower Ston(e)y Lakes.

Each weekend my wife, baby and I climb into my Chevy Colorado... aka the white sheep… aka the cottage vehicle and drive up to the cottage in hopes to make it up before the sunset or in time for a quick ski or for dinner. We are really hoping to fit in all three! But, if we don't get it all in Friday night, we still have the rest of the weekend to do that plus… play games, BBQ's, see friends and family, campfires, swimming, skating, tobogganing, beers, pranks, boating, cliff jumping, rope swings, water falls, river rides, fire works, relax and so much more! I love the cottage and everything that goes with it.
